I graduated in 1994 with a BA in Social Sciences with an Elementary Education endorsement from Seattle Pacific University.  I have since then taken Masters classes at Central Washington University and through Heritage University.

I taught from 1995-2000 at Kalama Elementary School in Kalama, Washington.  I taught kinder-3rd grade.  We then moved to Ellensburg and I stayed home to raise my kids.  I began subbing in the Kittitas School District in 2004.  I started teaching full time at Kittitas Elementary in 2010, teaching in a 2/3 split classroom. The past seven years I have rotated between 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.

I grew up in Battle Ground, Washington.  I graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1990.  I then went to Seattle Pacific University where I majored in Social Sciences and got an Elementary endorsement.  I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher.  I came from a long line of teachers and administrators.  I met my husband, Brent, while at Seattle Pacific University.  He is a Kittitas High School graduate.  I graduated from SPU in 1994 and began subbing in the Seattle area.  The next year I got a teaching job in Kalama, Washington and we moved down near my family in Battle Ground.  I taught there for 5 years until we had my son Tyson.  At that time we moved back to the Kittitas Valley where my husband had grown up and settled on a hay farm.  He went into business with his dad while I stayed home raising our kids.  Taylor was born 2 years later.  I began subbing in the Kittitas School District in 2004 as my kids were getting ready to enter school.  My mother-in-law had been a teacher at this school in the past and it was a great fit for me.  In 2010, when a 2/3 split classroom job opened up I was ready to jump back into teaching full time.  For the past 7 years I have taught a 2/3 split, a 3/4 split, and then 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  Tyson is now a senior, and Taylor is a sophomore.  I love Kittitas Elementary and am so happy to be working here!
