I moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1996, from Wisconsin, to attend Central Washington University. I graduated from C.W.U. with my Bachelor’s degree in K-8 Elementary Education and a minor in K-12 Special Education. After I started teaching, I pursued a degree through C.W.U. in Teaching English as a Second Language. My passion for teaching reading sent me back to school a third time to graduate from C.W.U. with a Master’s degree in Reading.

In 2001, I was hired for my first teaching job as a second grade teacher at Mattawa Elementary. I taught second grade for three years. In 2004, I took on a different position, which was a Reading Coach for the same K-2 school and continued that for three years.

In 2007, I was hired here at Kittitas Elementary to teach K-5 Special Education. I continued that for two years, until I became a fifth grade teacher! I’ve taught fifth grade the longest of all my positions now and I love my job! My passion for teaching has only grown with each teaching opportunity.

My husband’s name is Chris. He is a firefighter/paramedic for Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue. We have four kids together, which keeps us very busy!
